CUI Cluster of Excellence prolonged for 7 years

CFEL scientists are very happy and proud that the Cluster of Excellence ‘Hamburg Center for Ultrafast Imaging’ (CUI) was again successful in the federal Excellence Strategy under the new topical name ‘Advanced Imaging of Matter’. Together with their colleagues from Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) Photon Science, European XFEL GmbH (XFEL), the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter (MPSD), and the Institutes of the Departments of Physics and of Chemistry of the University of Hamburg, namely the Institutes of Experimental Physics, of Theoretical Physics I, of Laser Physics (ILP), of Nanostructure- and Solid State Physics (INF) Institutes of Inorganic and Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Physical Chemistry, they will get extra funding. The funding will be range between 5-10 mio € per anno for seven additional years.
